Whilst getting dressed this morning, for a spot of lunch with my friend in South Kensington, a wander around Bond Street and to attend an exhibition in Victoria, I realized that my outfit consisted of three pieces I have recieved for free from various companies. It wasn't intentional, and when this has happened in the past I've always changed, not wanting to blog about a whole free outfit, but then again, I thought why not?  I chose these pieces myself, some which I wouldn't necessarily be able to afford (which I'm of course ever so thankful for), and as they are staple pieces which I wear often and fit into my personal style, I personally don't see much of a problem. Plus I'd hope to think that whilst you read my blog to see my latest charity shop bargains, you also do because of how I style my clothes, my photography and to generally catch up with me. How do you feel about bloggers recieving free things, and does this change your views on my outfit? I'd love to know your opinion on this, because I have to say I'm a little worried what some you may think, but I'm always completely honest on my blog and clearly state when I have recieved something for free (and only ever choose/accept pieces which fit in with my style). I actually still can't believe that I do, so I'm very humbled.  Also, what do you think of my hairstyle? I haven't worn my hair out like this in over six years due to the fact that I'm very self concious about the size with my forehead (I used to be bullied over that and my weight), but I'm quite proud of myself for taking little steps with my self confidence! Oh, and it would mean ever so much if you could vote for me in the Next model competition here, thank-you! Love, Jazzabelle.

  1. You look amazing chick! Your hair looks so nice like that, and it's pretty obvious that those silly bullies were jealous. I love your outfit too, it looks really casual but then really stylish at the same time, and if the pieces look together then why the hell not talk about them- receiving things is a privilege you've worked for with your blog :) xxx

  3. I think your hair looks amazing!! I was thinking that before you even mentioned it! Very pretty!

To be honest I personally don't have any qualms about bloggers receiving free stuff... I mean especially if it's in their genuine interest.. im pretty sure there aren't many people that would turn down something they liked if it was offered to them!

I really love your blog :)

I think you have a really good attitude towards freebies, and as you say - people come here to see how you style up your clothes, your photography and to generally catch up with you. S x

  7. Your hair looks amazing like this! I’ve had a side fringe for a very long time now because people used to laugh at the huge spots I’d get on my forehead. So don’t worry! Plus I think your forehead looks lovely! Hehe. This is such a simple outfit, yet it looks so stylish. Jazmine, you’re amazing xxx

  10. larrvelly - is what i thought when i saw your outfit! i find that on other blogs,i can immediately spot the freebie as it is so far from their personal style it's ridiculous.

i care about your bargains, but more so on the way you dress.

and on the forehead thing - i have a 'higher than average' one myself and didn't notice until some girls in school teased me about it! but i rock my fivehead shamelessly - some of the most beautiful women have prominent foreheads :)

    lovely blog as always

  11. You look so good in jeans, and your hair looks beautiful!
I don't mind, especially as you always say when you've received free things. Blogging is fun and a great way to put yourself out there and make new friends. If you receive goodies..well then that should just be an added bonus!

  15. Your hair looks gorgeous like that! You look very elegant and yet nicely nonchalant too. Those boots are amazing- however, I know I could not be coping with those in this heat!
I think as long as you're honest about the freebies that's fine, and actually, whilst it's great seeing all your charity shop stuff, it is nice to see things that you like which we can all get our hands on!

  22. Everyone's already said it, but your hair looks gorgeous like that. And your outfit is so simple, but also lovely.
The only thing about bloggers recieving free stuff is, I get incredibly jealous! But that's nothing new when I look at your blog, and, believe me, it's a good thing!

  23. Your hair looks absolutely stunning like that! I honestly cannot pull of a center part, but you do it well. And I see no problem about blogging in a free outfit...I may be a little jealous that you get free stuff, but you're a lucky girl for receiving it and you should show it off! :)

  24. you look like a BOMBSHELL with your hair, it's incredibly sexy and suits you so well.

    p.s. i've voted for you

  25. I know everyone's said this already, but your hair looks so nice and sweet like that. And don't you dare start worrying about your forehead or I shall have to hunt you down.:) I have a big forehead too y'know, and so does my boyf, it totally doesn't matter about your forehead; I didn't even notice until you started saying that it was big, and besides when people look at you, the first thing they look at definetly isn't your forehead, I've been bullied for various reasons in the past though aswell, one of them being my forehead, so don't let it get you down! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I love your hair like that, your forehead certainly doesnt look big here! :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. I absolutely love your hair like this! Definitely wear it like that more, it suits you so much, and your forehead looks absolutely fine! A great outfit, I love your style :) xoxo

  34. It's a great outfit, and I love the top.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with a fully free outfit. You're picking things that you would be wearing anyway and it's still your personal style. We work hard at blogging, it's nice to get something out of it, right?

  35. Love this outfit! And I still haven't gotten over how amazing those boots are,

  37. Lovely simple outfit, I really want an H bag!!!! I don't think there is anything wrong wearing an outfit where all the items are free because you worked hard on your blog to be sent them in the first place and if you obviously like them so it would be silly not to show us how you wear them. I voted for you =)

  38. Every time I check your blog I can see a great girl with an amazing style.:) That's growing her own sense of style. and for me it's cool that you're receiving gifts from brands, I can see how you're styling some pieces that you didn't bought. It's like a challenge!:)

    lots of hugs!

  39. Your hair looks lovely like this and I have no problem with things being given for free and I think if you choose things you like and that reflect your own style I see nothing wrong with it. I think people who get funny about it are just jealous! x

  42. You look fab! I'd so much rather see a blogger wearing and getting use out of a freebie she loves, than it just being chucked on an ever growing pile of stuff to be never worn again once photos have been taken! Wear and enjoy I say!

  43. Gorgeous shoes! I really love how those jeans look on you as well :D Superb!

  44. Your looks amazing this way! Love it! Also your outfit is wonderfull, simple but so chic

  45. You are gorgeous and I love your hair like that! I think as you only accept stuff that fits into your style you should wear it whether or not you got it for free! LOVELY.

  48. Jazz you look flippin' stunning, as per! I completely understand your insecurity - I too have always been conscious of my forehead [which is more like a fivehead :P] but I can honestly say your hair looks wonderful parted centrally - you have nothing to be self conscious about at all! Let's embrace our foreheads eh? :) xx

    ReplyDelete
  49. I think your hair looks lovely like that. With regards to the free stuff it's not like you're bragging you just happen to be wearing mostly freebies, and why shouldn't you? I often feel a little bit jealous of bloggers who get free things but when you work really hard to make your blog into what it is you deserve them. x

    ReplyDelete
  50. my gosh. how breathtakingly beautiful this all is. i wish i could do my hair like that.. xx

    ReplyDelete
  51. i think it's totally fine you know, i was worried at first but this is the way it goes now and it's flattering. i get the odd thing here and there and as long as you use the products in the way you usually would and be transparent i can't see a problem. a company just sent me some trainers to be sure to see a post on it soon, i chose them too.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Your hair looks lovely like that! :) I used to be made fun of when I pulled my hair back too, so I understand why you feel self-conscious. But really, you look gorgeous!
And there's nothing wrong with wearing things you've gotten for free! Bloggers work hard, and if free things happen to come your way for it, then it's well-deserved! :)

    ReplyDelete
  53. your hair looks so beautiful jazmine, as a matter of fact this entire outfit does! i love how it's straying a little away from your signature look, but is still very you (hard to explain i guess! but you look fantastic)

i don't think freebies are a problem, anybody in your position would take advantage of free gifts (who wouldn't?!) and it's a great reward for the fact that you put yourself 'out there' via your blog.
the way i see it, blogging has a lot of pros & cons, we all have to deal with the cons so why not take advantage of the pros while they're on offer! xxx

  54. You look amazing! I can't believe someone can look stunning by wearing simple clothes! That's because you're special ;). I'm totally voting for you right now!

    Have a great weekend!

  55. First of all I just want to say your hair looks gorgeous like that! I want to start wearing my hair like that but I am also self conscious about the size of my forehead!

Also loving the simplicity of the outfit. When in doubt always stick with simple :) xo

    ReplyDelete
  58. This is such a lovely simple look. I love your shoes especially. Your hair looks perfect like this, it suits you beautifully.

I don't see anything wrong with accepting freebies, or wearing them head to toe for that matter. I'd sure as hell do so if I was offered any :)

    xx

  62. I've just discovered your blog, so lovely!

As I said on Blair's post, I think it's fine as long as it's not all just ad copy - if it's still you then it's still your blog to do with what you want, freebies or no!

    ReplyDelete
  63. You look stunning! I love the way you've styled your hair - very glamorous, especially with a simpler outfit and tough-looking boots.

I keep coming back because I think your style is fab, and because your opinions and ideas are so worth reading. Keep on doing what you do! x

  71. I think "you go girl" as far as the freebies go, nothing wrong with it at all - it only bothers me when you see the same sponsors cropping up on a blog every time, with no mention that the item was received as a gift by a sponsor, that annoys me as it is very transparent. Otherwise nobody could resent you for receiving lovely things to try on and write about (and photograph). Ignore the meaniesç

  75. Simple never looked so good. And I'm crushing on your boots at the moment!

All is well in free things that are made obvious. And you do that quite splendidly so no trouble at all here methinks.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I can't remember whether I've commented on this but either way! I adore this outfit, the simplicity of it is what makes it perfect (& I'm a sucker for turned up jeans) and you look gorgeous as usual lovely xx

    ReplyDelete
  77. you have this knack for styling things up so well, are you going to go into a career involving that? you should, i think you'd be amazing. :)

re: the free clothing. the main reason i like your blog is because you manage to mix and match expensive and inexpensive items so well in your posts. i really love that about it. so i'll be honest and say if there were numerous posts featuring only or majority of clothing from brands, i would be less interested. so really, i like things the way they are!

  80. i can't pass judgement on your forehead...do you mean it is too big? from the little glimpse you coyly give of it in the above photos, I would say "It is NOT big enough!". Big foreheads are beautiful things and quite rare what with all these scoopovers and fringes. So let your medium sized forehead out and about, and just be thankful you don't have a small forehead-they are the sign of shallowness!

    ReplyDelete
  81. You look so gorgeous in such a simple outfit! I think freebies are fine as long as they fit in with the blogger's personal style and the blogger isn't paid to advertise them, otherwise it gets a bit morally dubious. You could totally be a model from these pics! :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. Your hair looks so pretty, definitely wear it like this more often! Loooove those boots too :) You're always open & honest about items of clothing you receive for free, you stay true to your personal style & you mix things up with your charity shop buys, so I don't see any problem with it! :)
