when you say you've had enough, and you might just give it up.

Oh, hello! Remember me? Yes, it has been a while...
I think for the last nine months, maybe longer, I've really been stuck in a bit of a rut with my blog. My content used to be much more varied when I first started, but over the years I've lost my inspiration, so have been sticking to what I know - simple outfit pictures, shot in similar locations. Hardly inspiring, but as I don't have much confidence with my writing ability or putting my ideas and thoughts into action, I just haven't been motivated to try anything new. When we're now constantly being inundated with 'bloggers as brands', tips for writing a successful blog and the rise of full time bloggers, I really do find it a little overwhelming - my blog isn't my main source of income (one of the reasons why I don't post that often is due to my full time job!), I don't have a strict schedule to stick to and let's be honest, SEO and wearing new outfits in every post really aren't that important to me right now. My blog just fits around my life  - it's something for me to do in my spare time, whenever I fancy, even if it is just once a month. Whilst I'd like to post more, I think the main worry I have right now is that I am no longer posting content I'm that proud or passionate about.
From October/November onwards I'm hoping to introduce more lifestyle, interiors, tips & tricks, round ups and lists, plus I'd like to have a go at more 'themed' posts, to really bring me out of my comfort zone. I need to stop worrying about the number of comments and likes I get, and start focusing on sharing things I'd be interested in reading myself. I'm keen to know what you'd like to see on my little blog - I'm really open to suggestions and would love to hear your thoughts. Chat soon! Love, Jazmine.

  1. This photography is really lovely. I completely know what you mean with being stuck in a rut with blogging. Just remember, that just because you might not always be getting comments does not mean people do not read your blog and appreciate your words. I'm not normally much of a commenter but felt the need to send some love! x

  2. I completely understand where you are coming from & my blog following is much smaller than yours/ Blogging & having a full time job is hard work especially if you find your job inspiring. Like you said you should do what suits you Jazmine!

  3. I'm feeling the exact same, as I am a full time student doing Textile Design, I don't have much time. I am torn because I see bloggers posting like every other day, whereas I can only post once a month if that and plus confidence.

Your blog is beautiful and one of my favourites and I love seeing/ reading your posts even if they are once a month like mine. Your photography is gorgeous and you & your style are amazing :D

  4. I think this is a really good idea. Do what YOU want to do. It's your blog. Your priorities are different so you should only follow whatever you think it's best. We'll keep coming back :)

  5. I totally understand what you mean. However I have never once found any of your posts boring, in fact I love what you blog about, you always look fantastic too. I think you should post absolutely what you like, I really like the sound of some of the ideas you have. Never be afraid to blog about something you want to.

  6. Your blog has always been a source of inspiration! But lifestyle posts would be great, I'd love to see anything about restaurants, days out and anything else you want to post about :)

  7. It's so hard not to get caught up with the number of comments and views on posts and then just post things that are the same because they're the most popular. I really need to step out of my comfort zone too if I'm going to be truly proud of my blog. I always enjoy baking and home decorating videos so would love to see some of these on your blog :)

  8. I don't usually comment on posts but felt like this might be needed! I have been following you on Instagram for a while and you've uploaded some photos of your decor and I loved it all so would be good to see some interior posts.

  10. These photos are gorgeous as always, I'm jealous of your jeans! Lifestyle, interiors etc posts coming up do sound exciting, but my personal (and completely inexperienced, almost irrelevant) suggestion would be to not shy away too much from the unoriginal, an age-old whats in your bag post and a question/answer tag might seem overdone, but I think you could make it really different. Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing the same posts over and over again from you, I love your style and your really honestly written posts. It's nice to hear about bloggers that don't always feel mega confident and get through it in a relatable way!

  12. I used to love your blog, with talks about charity shop hunts, what you and your mum had been up to etc. I, obviously, still love your outfits, but just talk about life! Knowing the person behind the outfit is awesome :)

  15. I feel exactly the same as this right now and it is hard when there is this pressure around blogging now to make it a brand of yourself! Real people working full time don't have that luxury!
Good luck getting your motivation back and don't be hard on yourself :) what you do to make you happy is far more important! xxx

  18. I always enjoy reading what you've written regardless of what it's about!
I think some more lifestyle and interior posts will be just as great to read!
I think you're right in what you say about the pressure and I think a lot of people feel it. But like you said - you're doing this because you enjoy it and the focus should be on that!
Looking forward to reading more :)

  20. As uninspiring as it sounds, I think you're doing everything just right. I remember when I started reading your blog, you took all your pictures in front of a red brick wall (see, no variety) and I just thought "How on earth can she look so amazing, wearing the simplest clothes in the most boring setting?!"
I love the fact that you take your pictures in the same locations, because whereas they might not be variable, they're stunning. I'd give anything to live in London and have the Parliament as my backdrop! And the photography is stunning, which makes the outfits look so good too (not that they don't).
Variety is not as necessary, when you've found your nieche.

  21. I love your top!
And I can also relate with what you have said. Though variety of content is good, it's not a problem if you stick to outfit and fashion-related posts if that's what you feel you would like to focus on. :)
    Anyway, gorgeous photos!

  22. While you don't post often, I think that when you do they are quality posts! And really what matters is that you're happy with what you put on your blog. I always look forward to seeing a post from Jazzabellsdiary, instead of other blogs which might post more often but I'd skim over.
I'm excited to see your lifestyle posts! :)

  23. I read lots of fashion blogs including the 'famous' and well-known ones! and to be honest, yours is one of my favourites! I love your style and your taste in fashion and decor! and it's even more impressive that you thrift so much of your stuff! I don't have a blog myself but can imagine it you'd have times of feeling inspired and other times not so much. maybe think about why you started a blog in the first place. a creative outlet? a diary? I am sure it wasn't to count comments and compare blog stats. and for what it's worth, this is the first time I have ever posted a comment on any blog. just felt moved to give you some feedback. love your blog and catching a glimpse of your beautiful and unique vision of the world, whether it be fashion, travels, lifestyle etc.xx

  25. I've never commented before, but I know that there's some questioning on your end. I wanted to say that I love your blog, and keep it bookmarked to check in every once in a while. I know that as a blogger one would see pressure to post often, but it's ok if you don't. It's not your full time job so just have fun with it. You can say short comments on what you learned that day or what's going on in your week :)

And, as a twenty year old girl I've learned a lot from you. You always look beautiful, and your clothes are great. I'm built small and skinny like you, and although society tells us to be thin, I almost never feel sexy or beautiful because we are told that guys like curves. But you've taught me that you can be sexy with a small booty and chest. That might be too much information, but it's meant a lot to me. It's also in the way we dress and carry ourselves.

    Xoxo,
    Reader
